Michael Ferro

Early Career

From a young age, Ferro challenged his innovative, business mindset. Ferro founded the Internet software company Click Commerce in 1994. In 2006, Michael W. Ferro Jr. founded Merrick Ventures, a private equity firm and technology holding company centered on big data, content aggregation, deep learning, and distribution technologies. He has continued to lead the company as CEO over the last 15 years.

With his early career success, Ferro was honored with the KPMG Illinois High Tech award as well as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Technology Award. Additionally, he was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003 by the National Entrepreneurs Organization and was one of the youngest individuals to earn a spot on the Forbes Tech’s 100 Highest Rollers list.

Invention and Innovation in Medical Imaging

One major aspect of Ferro’s career has been his innovative contributions to medical and diagnostic imaging, developing numerous registered patents with the USPTO. In his leadership role at Merge Healthcare from 2008 to 2015, Ferro made a lasting impact collaborating with health care providers to utilize the latest AI medical imaging technology to improve medical procedures and overall health and comfort for patients.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael W.
